Next Haggs Academy for Ladies will start in April 2024.

​Here at Haggs Castle Golf Club, we do our very best to welcome those that are either new to the game of golf or just thinking about taking it up. We appreciate that it can sometimes seem daunting to join a new Club or to take up a new sport. With that in mind, our Haggs Castle Academy is designed specifically for you! We assist you with equipment, tuition and also just meeting other like-minded people looking to start a new journey in golf.
Our sessions are fun, informative and our aim is to take you from a beginner right through to your first game on our magnificent 18-hole golf course.

Here is what you can expect when you become one of our Academy Members

• 12 x 1 hour group sessions on practice area with our Club Pros.
• Sessions aimed at beginners or those fairly new to golf.
• 12-week course that will introduce you to all aspects of the game.
• Sessions aimed at creating social interaction between Academy Members.
• A final ‘competition/fun event’ on the course over several holes to celebrate graduating the Academy

Content

• Grip – Aim – Alignment – Stance - Posture
• Mid Iron work
• Putting
• Short Game
• Bunker Play
• Etiquette and Rules
• Play on the ‘Academy Course’
•  A half set of clubs is provided to each Academy Member at the start of the sessions. These will be stored at the Club between sessions.
• Balls for sessions are provided by our Professional.
• Please note – Academy Members should wear weather-appropriate clothing during their sessions. Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee the weather!!!

Access to Haggs Castle Clubhouse

• During the 12-week course, Academy Members will be welcomed as Social Members of our Club and allocated with membership cards which entitles you to discounts on food and drink! This will also give you access to the Clubhouse throughout the 12-week course, whether on the day of a session or not!
• Academy Members can book clubhouse facilities for their own social events during the 12-week course
• Academy Members will have full use of our changing facilities.

Session Outcome
Once Academy Members have successfully completed their course, they will be presented with a certificate and be invited to a celebratory lunch where you will have the chance to meet other Members including the Captain and Vice-Captain. Academy Members will be invited to join the Club and offered attractive rates in their first year of membership. The cost to book your place in our next Academy session is just £165 which is payable upon entry to the Club.
